Singapore is the lightest regime in the region to enter and the easiest to be complacent in. Health supplements need no pre-market approval; the dealer carries the full responsibility for safety, quality, claims and labelling — for the life of the product.

The regime in brief

RegulatorHealth Sciences Authority (HSA). Foods sit with SFA; classification is the first decision.
Pre-marketNone. No licence to import, manufacture or sell. Voluntary notification to HSA exists and is a commercially useful trust signal.
IngredientsProhibited: Poisons Act and Misuse of Drugs Act substances, human-derived materials, undeclared actives. Heavy-metal and microbial limits apply.
ClaimsSupport and maintenance of normal function only; no disease references. Evidence must be held by the dealer.
LabelEnglish; mandatory fields including the advisory 'This is not a medicinal product'.
LifecyclePost-market enforcement at any time. Chinese Proprietary Medicines are a separate, licensed category — misclassification is the most common failure.
